I came to painting rather recently. It’s a new form of self-expression for me. For years I worked in theatre and film. It always required many people to work properly. Although the delivery system for art usually requires more involvement, at this stage I’m enjoying the simple act of painting.

How many of you have been criticized for your artistic efforts early in the game, only to completely shut down that part of your self-expression? Sometimes these giant hurdles can be minimized through the distant lens of time. It’s good to go back with a new perspective and take your creative leap over that tiny, now insignificant, hurdle. My hurdle was in the third grade. I could never keep my colors within the lines. As an expressionist now, it’s perfectly acceptable.
